Drive Colonial Parkway and cross the Jamestown–Scotland Ferry to see how the James River and Tidewater landscape shaped the settlement’s location.
Visit both Jamestown sites on Saturday, then reserve Sunday for Colonial Williamsburg or Yorktown rather than compressing the full Historic Triangle into one day.
Use morning for archaeology and afternoon for interpreted history
Historic Jamestowne is largely outdoors and rewards cooler morning hours. After lunch, Jamestown Settlement’s galleries and recreated spaces provide more shade and direct interpretation. Verify both institutions’ hours before assuming one ticket or schedule covers them.
