From I-64 and Williamsburg
Leave I-64 for Williamsburg, then follow Jamestown Road or the current signed approach to the historic sites. Historic Jamestowne and Jamestown Settlement have separate entrances and parking areas.
Getting to Jamestown
Arrive by Jamestown Road or Colonial Parkway, park separately at the two historic sites, and use the Scotland ferry only after checking current service.
A car is the practical default
Historic Jamestowne and Jamestown Settlement are separate stops
The attractions sit several miles from central Williamsburg and are not one walkable campus. Amtrak reaches Williamsburg, but visitors still need a rental car, taxi, rideshare, or arranged tour for the museums, ferry, and parkway.
Colonial Parkway
The parkway is the scenic connection among Jamestown, Williamsburg, and Yorktown. Construction and rehabilitation can close segments, so check National Park Service alerts instead of assuming the full route is open.
Jamestown–Scotland Ferry
The toll-free state ferry crosses the James River between Jamestown and Surry. It carries vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians, but weather, vessel maintenance, and traffic can affect the schedule and wait.
PHF, RIC, and ORF airports
Newport News/Williamsburg is closest but has limited service. Richmond usually offers the strongest road approach; Norfolk can work when a Hampton Roads itinerary justifies bridge-and-tunnel traffic.
